FoldingFins® 2-Year Limited Warranty

EXOTECH Sp. z o.o. ("EXOTECH", "we", "us") provides a 2-year limited warranty on FoldingFins® products purchased directly from foldingfins.com. This warranty is supplemental to your statutory consumer rights under EU/Polish law (rękojmia) and does not limit them.
What's Covered
For 24 months from the date of delivery, EXOTECH warrants that the following components of FoldingFins® will be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal recreational diving use:

Main blade membrane (ECO B elastomer, 72% biomass) — delamination not caused by impact, improper layer bonding, material failure under normal flex cycles

Frame structure — structural cracks, plastic defects, molding errors

Folding mechanism — bearing (hinge axis) — wear, deformation, or material loss in the rotational axis not caused by external impact or improper lubrication

Folding mechanism — lock mechanism — failure of the locking system to hold the fin in deployed position despite correct setup

Workmanship — assembly errors, missing components at delivery, incorrect factory assembly
What's NOT Covered (Exclusions)
This warranty does NOT cover:

Normal wear and tear — abrasions, scratches, color fading, worn non-slip pads, minor cosmetic deterioration

Mechanical damage from contact with the seabed, rocks, coral, wrecks, sharp edges, propellers, or any external impact
- Damage from walking on land, dry walking, or use outside water

UV degradation from prolonged sun exposure (storage outside original packaging in direct sunlight for more than 30 days)

Chemical damage (chlorine above 5 ppm, acids, solvents, fuels, oils)

Extreme temperature damage (storage above 50°C / 122°F or below -10°C / 14°F)
- User modifications, repairs outside authorized service, or third-party parts

Pins (adjustment pins) — consumable accessories sold separately. Lost, broken, incorrectly installed (including reversed orientation), or damaged pins are NOT covered. Replacement sets available at foldingfins.com/accessories.

Bungee straps — consumable accessories with typical service life of 6-12 months under regular use. Replacement sets sold separately.

Adjustment key — consumable accessory; replacements available separately.

Forced bending or twisting — bending or twisting the folding mechanism beyond its natural folding axis (above 180° or in vertical plane)

Damage from extreme storage neglect — loss of function due to storing the fins for 30+ days with accumulated salt deposits and without prior fresh-water rinse, in line with industry-standard practice (rinse before extended storage). Standard occasional rinse skipping during regular use is NOT a warranty exclusion.

Tampering or repair attempts — any signs of mechanism manipulation (tool marks, pin disassembly, non-recommended lubricants) automatically void the warranty on the affected component.

Shipping damage — covered by carrier (FedEx claim), not manufacturer

Improper use — use inconsistent with the user manual (e.g., diving with weights attached to fins, tow-rope diving without recommendation)

Products purchased outside foldingfins.com — warranty applies only to direct purchases. Resale ownership does not transfer warranty.
Warranty Registration (Required)
To activate your 2-year warranty, register your product within 30 days of delivery at foldingfins.com/warranty-registration. Without registration, only your statutory rights under EU/Polish consumer law (rękojmia, 2 years) apply.
Claim Procedure
Step 1 — Submit claim (within 30 days of defect discovery)
Email info@foldingfins.com with subject line WARRANTY CLAIM – Order #[your order number]. Include:
- Order number and delivery date

Photo of the defect (close-up, 2 angles: top + side)

Photos of the entire fin (both sides, both fins for comparison)
- Photo of your storage location

Care log — brief description (1-2 sentences) of your post-dive maintenance routine

Estimated number of dives since purchase
Claims submitted later than 30 days after defect discovery may be rejected.
Step 2 — EXOTECH initial review (5 business days)
EXOTECH reviews documentation. Possible responses:

Accept — proceed to Step 4 (repair or replacement)

Request physical inspection — proceed to Step 3

Reject — written justification with reference to specific warranty clause
Step 3 — Physical inspection (if requested)
For all folding mechanism claims, EXOTECH reserves the right to request physical inspection before final determination. Customer ships the product to EXOTECH at customer's expense. EXOTECH technical team examines for tamper evidence, defect characteristics, and care indicators. Decision within 14 business days.

If claim accepted: EXOTECH covers return shipping + repair/replacement

If claim rejected: customer pays return shipping; product returned with written inspection report
Step 4 — Resolution (if accepted)
EXOTECH chooses, at its sole discretion: repair or replacement of the affected component or fin. Cash refunds are NOT provided under warranty (separate from 30-day return policy at point of purchase).
Limitations and Exclusions

Final determination — In disputed cases where defects could be either manufacturing or operational, EXOTECH's technical team makes the final eligibility determination based on physical inspection findings.

Limitation of liability — Total warranty exposure is limited to the original purchase price. EXOTECH is not liable for consequential damages (lost diving trips, alternative equipment costs, emotional distress, lost wages).

No transfer — Warranty is non-transferable. Resale or change of ownership voids the warranty.

Statutory rights — This warranty does not limit your rights under EU/Polish consumer law (rękojmia). You may pursue claims under either path independently.

Governing law and jurisdiction — This warranty is governed by Polish law. Disputes shall be resolved by the court competent for EXOTECH's registered office (Gdynia, Poland), without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights in the customer's country of residence.
